Current Position: 4th place. Alone out of last place in the NL East for the first time since mid April.
Projected Record (based on current win %): 73-89
Better win/loss percentage than: Devil Rays, White Sox, Royals, Rangers, Marlins, Astros, Reds, Pirates, Giants (23rd out of 32 teams)
Team payroll: $37,347,500 (30th out of 32 teams)
Tell me again why Manny Acta should not get significant numbers of NL Manager of the Year votes? I think even the biggest Nats fans were projecting a certain 100-loss season, and that was before the starting rotation got torn apart by injuries, and Nick Johnson showed that only Barbaro is a slower healer. I'm not saying Acta should win the whole thing, as I think Arizona is an even bigger success story. But if you're a Nats fan, you've got to be positively geeked to have Acta leading this club for a good long time.

[snoooooooooooooore] Hmph. Hmm. What?
He'd get Manager of the Year votes if anyone outside the 3,000 nightly faithful at RFK were paying the least bit of attention.
When did D.C. get a team?
Remember how the Expos used to play in Puerto Rico? Now they've got them in D.C. for a couple years while they find a real home for them.
30-3.
I think I mentioned it already, but in case I didn't....
30-3.
Dollars (yours) to doughnuts (mine) we still win the series.
I think Dimitri Young should be getting lots of MVP votes. I mean without him, the Nats might have lost 100 games.
Come on, Jeremy. You can't possibly think you're making any sense. Or is this one of those blog rules I don't get where you say ridiculous inflamatory things just for the sake of blogging?
No, that was my "Dave Trembley has to make a PA apology" post.
I win your doughnuts J-Red. I like toasted coconut. None of those custard filled ones.
It's a baseball bet. You're getting those little weight rings the guys use in the on-deck circle.
Really? Because I agree Trembely owes us all in apology. I mean, I don't think the PA is good enough, because that's one game's attendance.
I was thinking more like a full page ad in the Sun, the Post, the Times and the Lansing State Journal.
He could pull a Perot and just buy an hour of prime time television. Sure, it would bankrupt him and his family, but we need to focus on what is important. Plus, voluntarily crippling his family financially would demonstrate his commitment to the Orioles Way.
