First, thanks to Jeremy for posting this. I was a weird combination of homicidal and sucidal after the game.

This is the most embarassing loss in the 12-year history of the franchise. The result itself is not embarassing so much as the way in which it was accomplished.

When you are 4-9, you are down 3, there are 12 seconds left, and you are on the road, you do not kick the field goal.

When all 11 members of your offense are looking at you like you're crazy and actually arguing with you, you probably should run a play and not just take a concession field goal.

When your rookie Heisman-winning QB says after the game "I fought with the coach, and I should not have done that," it's his way of saying "Note that I disagreed with this decision," because it reminds people why he had a reason to argue with the coach.

Let's go back to the end of regulation. You're 4-9. The 49ers lost, so a loss means you'll have a top-five draft pick most likely. You're really good at top-five draft picking. You have the ball half a yard out with 12 seconds left and no time outs. You have infinite options. You can run a cheap fade, any other pass play or you can utilize your balls and run it in.

Or you can kick a field goal, hope you win the toss, hope your rookie QB can avoid shitting the bed, and hope your long snapper, Matt Katula, doesn't have the first poor snap of his career. Those chings didn't happen.

I'm in now way done being a Ravens fan, but I do feel like I know how it feels to be a Redskins fan.
