Somebody please kill Barry Zito

So the Nationals have one thing to be relevant about these days (aside from chasing 100 losses). Ryan Zimmerman's 30-game hit streak (and counting).

So I'm watching MLB Gamecast this afternoon when I get alerts that Zimmerman is about to bat. Technology is fantastic.

Here's the situation... top 7. Zimmerman hitless on the day with a walk. Runners on second and third. Giants losing 2-0. What does Zito do??

The steroid-shooting (allegedly) son of a bitch violates every rule in the baseball code and INTENTIONALLY WALKS Ryan Zimmerman to load the bases.

Please fall off that hill and die, you useless prick.

Herm Edwards tells us that in football, "you play to win the game." In baseball, playing by the informal code doesn't always allow for that. Maybe that's why some people hate baseball. Nonetheless, we can all agree that if Zito comes up to the plate against the Nationals again this season, and Zimmerman doesn't get another at bat today, and his hit streak was killed due to an intentional walk, Zito is going to get plunked in the back of the neck. They should follow that up with a shot into the dugout at the manager who called for the intentional walk.

Managers call IBB, usually. Get mad at Bochy.

Who cares about Zimmerman or the Nationals. Play to win.

I am not a lawyer, but calling for the murder of someone is usually frowned upon even in this context. May want to reword this or take it down.

Last anonymoous, relax there. If you've ever known Jeremy, you'd realize he's the last person who'd do anything violent to anyone. Well, except for those Cameron Crazies fags, but that's just an act of philanthropy for the public (note to anonymous: I'm KIDDDING!).

Hit streak doesn't get the same respect as bunting to break up a no-hitter. I remember when Ben Davis did that for the Padres against the Diamondbacks in 2001. Now who managed that Padres team??? Oh yeah, Bruce Bochy.

What a dumb fuckin blog this is. Useless...

You know NOTHING about baseball ya dumb faggot. Zimmerman had other chances to get a hit anyways. Your mother is gonna get plunked in the skull with my cock tonight..

To Anonymous, actually I am a lawyer, and I think this is slightly different than the post on the Pittsburgh Penguins message board which was a direct threat by the author that he was going to kill Alexander Ovechkin and that he didn't care what the consequences were. Not to mention that the fear of anonymity isn't there... if Zito reads the blog and wants to talk to me, our e-mail address is on there. I'll be happy to respond.

And I wrote this post immediately after the IBB, not knowing that Zimmerman would get another chance up at bat. Still though, I don't care if your manager calls for the IBB... you don't do it. Even if after the other game the opponent plays the right P.R. card and says that they understand why you did it. And I also agree with J-Red in that bunting to break up a no-hitter is waaaaay worse.

Zito should and will pay for what he did. It's not like Zimmerman is selective at the plate either, Zito was pitching to him like a scared little douche. That said "Your mother is gonna get plunked in the skull with my cock tonight.." is pretty funny...

Bottom line is that three legitimate swinging plate appearances leaves no room for complaining. In an NL game, the average PAs per game is only like 3.75.

You really don't know anything about baseball.
