O's and Nats

Ummm, well, the O's average score over two games is 3-5, and the Nats' average score is 2.5 to 9. Plus, the Nats are at "home" and the O's are on the road. This might well be the last time I post about baseball this year.

I will say this. At least the O's broadcast team (Buck Martinez and Gary Thorne) and post-game team (Rick Dempsey) beats the hell out of the Nats broadcast team, Bob Carpenter and Don Sutton. What, you couldn't get Ivan Calderon and Gary Carter? Perhaps they had "visa issues", like MASN's first choice Elliot Price. For a Canadian, getting a visa to work in America is REALLY hard.

Symbolic of my feelings about baseball.

The problem is, to hear the announcers you have to be able to find the game on TV. I looked around for the game last night, but gave up when I couldn't find it and saw that the last 15 minutes of Karate Kid was on.

It was on C-SPAN in Howard County. I was flipping through and I saw "MASN2". I couldn't remember what had been on that channel before. I remembered when it switched back to C-SPAN minutes after the last pitch.

And what channel was Karate Kid on? Maybe it'll be on again this week Daniel-san.

ABC Family. I turned it on during "You're the best around" and yelled
"sweet!" Lisa was not pleased.

Dan Steinberg at the Washington Post's DC Sports Bog has a nice summary of things Nats fans can look forward to this year.

I swear... I have tickets to 11 more Nats games this year (9 at home, two on the road). If they win any of those 11 games, I think I'll celebrate like I did at the Georgia Dome on April 1, 2002.

And we were going to go for Danny Tartabull and Mickey Tettleton as the broadcast team, but they're both going through 'roid withdrawal, so they had to decline. Oriole bastards getting Gary Thorne. So jealous.

I tell you what. I remember Bob Carpenter when he did play by play for the Cardinals. He had a knack for switching back and forth between the plays and the stories behind the plays.
