At least it's not 0-21 ...

This is not a good way to start the season. Chris Ray was supposed to be one of the bright spots this season, and he blows his second save opportunity? Ouch. And to add insult to injury, he gave up a game winning grand slam to A-Rod, the least clutch (what did we decide was the opposite of clutch?) player in baseball. The terrible ending overshadowed a decent outing by Steve Trachsel and a good day for Markakis. Looks like this season is going to be ugly.

That pitch just got up on Chris Ray and A-Rod made him pay. He absolutely crushed that ball to the deepest part of the park. But hey, at least your boys are putting up runs. The Nats haven't even scored 20 this season. Nor have we had the opportunity to play our closer in a meaningful situation.

I'm just glad we bulked up the bullpen this offseason so we could survive some horrendous starts from guys like Steve Trachsel.

Wait, what happened?

And you might be able to chalk up the homer pitch to one getting away from Ray, but he did allow three other baserunners before that. He hit two of them, Jeter and Abreu. Jeter had to earn his walk after the 1B ump ruled he had swung on the pitch that hit him.

And if you didn't see the game live, you missed Chris Gomez saving a double with a diving backhanded spear of a liner with none out bottom 9th. The game could have been lost many many ways before the pitch to A-Rod.

I didn't actually see the game. I still don't know what channel MASN 1 and 2 are, so I forget that there's even a game on. I remembered to check the box score after the game was over and was horrified.

I don't know if AA Comcast is the same as Howard Co. Comcast, but MASN for me is 44 and MASN2 is 16 (shares with C-SPAN2). Of course you also need to check WJZ-13 in case it's on broadcast TV.

My friend and I were recently discussing about technology, and how integrated it has become to our daily lives. Reading this post makes me think back to that debate we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside... I just hope that as technology further develops, the possibility of copying our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's one of the things I really wish I could see in my lifetime.
