Davidson

I worry going in to every Maryland game, but here's why I'm not as worried about Davidson as I would normally be: we haven't been to the tournament in 2 years.

Announcers always talk about how great tournament experience is, and for a lot of teams, that's probably true. But for our team, the fact that only the seniors have ever played in the NCAAs is a good thing because it means they'll be hungrier.

We have traditionally played our worst games when we overlook opponents. I think this year that's not as big of a concern because our seniors know how hard it is to make it to the tournament and that will rub off on our underclassmen.

So I genuinely am not that worried either, but in response to a question on Terp Sports Report as to whether the early start time might affect the Terps, Tahj Holden responded as follows:

"I am a little worried, most of the UMD teams have struggled during early games. This is partly due to the fact that we played the primetime games at 7:30 and 9. We got up at the crack of dawn it seemed, but it is necessary in order to get you body functioning in order to play the game. I think the wake up call will be around 6-6:30 so that they can get breakfast and get over to the gym as early as possible to get as much shooting as the NCAA will allow since I think we are the 1st game that day. I think GW likes to be there about 2 hours before the game."

But the bottom line is Davidson has to play the same time we do.

Covers.com, a gambling advice site, says we'll lose because we're happy to be there after a two-year layoff.

Obviously, they know nothing about Maryland fans. We're not happy to be anywhere.

PROPOSITION

I'll make you guys a deal. We'll see if you're really willing to put your money where your mouth is. Terps fans always talk a lot, but rarely, if ever, do they follow through on it.

IF, and let me emphasize the "IF", Maryland beats Davidson, then I'll never post on your site again, since apparently you hold me in disdain.

BUT, if Davidson wins, then you have to shut down this site. If you are really that confident, then you'll take the bet.

But, if you're cowards, like I expect you are, you'll find some way around taking the bet.

So, what do you say? Care to step up or will you cower like the little pansies you all are?

You don't understand... we like your posts. They are entertaining along the same lines as "Kids Say the Darndest Things." So even after Maryland wins, you're welcome to keep posting here.

Yeah, I agree. It's not that we're afraid of having to shut the site down, it's just we'd be losers both ways if we took your bet.

You're right, you're losers both ways.

Seriously, you think we want you to stop posting comments? You're our only reader! We all enjoy some trash talk. You should join our bracket pool and show us your awesome knowledge of college hoops:

Thanks for the pool invite, but would be too easy. You'd all have Maryland winning it all, and by round 2 I'd have it all wrapped up.

It would not make the tournament as fun.
