Randy Moss to the Pats for a 4th

Adam Schefter of NFL.com is reporting that the Raiders have sent Moss to the Pats for a 4th round pick in this afternoon's draft.

Great...so the AFC power teams are getting richer, or at least staying rich, while the NFC flounders around for yet another offseason. Can we un-merge the leagues? Seriously, this year's AFC Playoffs might have six teams better than anything in the NFC. The 49ers could actually make the NFC Championship Game, while good AFC teams like the Broncos and Bengals will be struggling to get a wild card.

So much for parity. I think parity requires all 32 teams to be competent.

Yeah, that doesn't make much sense for the Raiders. You just used the #1 overall pick on a quarterback whose best attribute is a "rocket arm" so the next day you get rid of your best deep threat? I hope Moss is a locker room poison for the Patriots.

I can't imagine GB didn't offer at least a 4th rounder for him, and it gets him out of the conference. What's going on with Jerry Porter?

The Raiders got a steal picking up Michael Bush. I worry for my boy Lamont.

They reported on PTI that Green Bay was only willing to give up a 5th round pick. Absurd. The Packers then used the 4th round pick they were unwilling to use to get Randy Moss to select Allen Barbre OT Missouri Southern. Really? You'd rather have Allen Barbre than Randy Moss? Admittedly Moss would cost more money, but he would also make Brett Favre happier. Maybe the Packers are trying to drive Favre away by not giving him any offensive weapons.
