Snow, Lambeau, Favre, Adversity, Playoffs - Life is Beautiful

If this is the greatest weekend of the NFL season (I still prefer next weekend), the Packers and Seahawks couldn't have gotten it off to a better start.

It's Lambeau. It's snowing. Ryan Grant opened the game by performing the choke of all chokes, losing two fumbles in the first five game minutes.

It ain't over. After some Favre magic and Ryan Grant deciding to make up for his early errors, the Pack stormed back and tied the game within the same quarter.

THIS is football. My girlfriend is in for a very boring weekend.

Man, is Brady hot right now.

And his completion percentage is pretty good, too. Though Welker just inexplicably dropped a pass. Putz.

Big Ten basketball

Iowa: 43
MSU: 36

Okay, so it's not 49-20, but it's pretty close.

Someone please help save me from this Big Ten basketball nightmare.

Back to the good stuff, 17 down, 2 to go.

Bridget Moynahan's baby daddy:

26/28 (!)
262 yds
3 TDs

And of course those two incompletions were because the stupid receivers dropped the passes.

This may truly be the best year in the history of quarterbacking. Favre, Hasselbeck, Manning, Brady, Romo, Roethlisberger and even Kurt Warner all had excellent seasons.

You forgot about Anderson and Garrard, they also had a solid season.

If only they could put Big Ten basketball on some tv network that no one can get.

Davis said...

We call that the NFL network, Tuna.

He's referring to the equally disastrous Big Ten Network.

the packers game was football at its finest. I have fond memories of being a kid, going down to watch the lions games when they were still playing at tiger's stadium, putting on a tons of clothes, and freezing my ass off all in the efforts of watching a good game. then entered the devil...pontiac silver dome, and the dream was over. I loved watching those guys sliding around in the snow. that takes talent. anyone can play indoors, but to keep it all together under those weather conditions was awesome. it takes a real man to slide across the field with bare arms in the snow.

Is next weekend going to be more boring?

J-Red said...

No. Next week is just two games on one day.

sounds like sarah needs a coffee and a grip on football reality...this is what we look forward to all year...dah

Your reason for living is painfully dull. "Dah."

I think most people's reason for living is painfully dull (children, refusal to place crushing debt on parents/loved ones, inability to successfully commit suicide).

didn't say my reason for living was football, dear one, said we all look forward to super bowl sunday. my team is long ago out of it, but now i look forward to seeing the big game, betting, buying and selling squares....you know all the illegal stuff that makes the world go round. it gives me and my co workers something to talk about and let's face, life is pretty boring most times...so this is something i enjoy and look forward to.

I didn't say your reason for living was football either, Clever One.

Look, I'm just going to put this to bed before it gets out of hand. I know it's really fun for all of you to gang up on women who comment on this blog. Fine. I'm sorry you feel the need to do that, but it's not my fault. I'd like white male oppression to end just as much as anyone.

Anonymous, I don't want to start a blog war with you. At least Ben was kind of fun. You, however, fail to pick up on important nuances, and that makes further conversation between us entirely pointless. I'm not just talking about the fact that you didn't realize when I insulted you (See what I did earlier? I implied that, whatever your reason for Being is, it does not interest me.); you also missed out on the subtle poetic beauty of the intertextuality of the comments between me and J-Red and decided it was your place to interject with your completely irrelevant opinion on what I "need." Also, I'm not sure why you felt it was important to take the time to explain why you look forward to whatever it is you look forward to. I don't care what you look forward to -- how can I, when you're anonymous? I guess the fact that my boyfriend is a spineless, pandering sycophant makes you feel like you have the right to call me things like "Dear One," but, please, don't call me anything. Don't talk to me ever again. Bye now.
